Solar Construction Site Superintendent

**Responsibilities**:
In collaboration with the Project Manager, the Superintendent oversees the construction and installation activities on a solar project site.
**Duties**:
- Trains, coaches, and supervises the project team, including direct and indirect reports
- Implements and maintains CBI’s safety program into all site plans and procedures and adhering to all safety and record-keeping requirements.
- Reviews and understands the contract and develops a project plan that identifies and mitigates risks and maximizes opportunities to ensure all financial targets, including budgets, forecasts, and profitability levels are met
- Ensures prompt scheduling, coordination and effective cost control pertaining to project labor, equipment, and materials
- Works with the project management team to create, maintain, and execute the project plan and schedule in compliance with budget and quality standards
- Understands contract and scope of work and effectively communicates with project team to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met
- Works with project teams to ensure safe work procedures are understood and followed
- Provides solutions to production problems and technical issues
- Proactively manages potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts/setbacks
- Stays current with industry practices and seeks new and innovative construction methods and initiatives
- Maintains a professional attitude with owners, workers, consultants, and clients
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Journeyperson certificate, diploma, or degree in a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience using AutoDesk an asset; ability to learn essential
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with clients
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in a field supervisory role
- Demonstrated experience implementing a strong safety culture
- In-depth knowledge of and experience in construction industry
- Thorough understanding of productivity rates and ability to interpret cost reports
- Thorough understanding of contract language, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks and leverage opportunities
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence
- Ability to pass a fitness-to-work test
- Experience working in renewable energy (particularly solar) an asset
