**Dispatcher/customer representative**

**Function**:
The Dispatcher/Customer representative serves a very important role - important to people LACC serves and to LACC staff for the ongoing daily fulfillment of our services to the City of London.

The Dispatcher/Customer representative is a dedicated caring person, responding and caring to needs in 3 specific areas:

- **A**nimal control and by-law enforcement support, record keeping, management of floats, data entry
- **C**aring for the public who need help with various information or animal related problems.
- **T**endering assistance to staff that need help or support in order to fulfill their own job specifics or the goals of the Company

**Personal Requirements**:
A Dispatcher/Customer representative is an individual who has at a minimum a high school diploma, with experience and training in bookkeeping, serving the public, and a high degree of skill in verbal communication. A Dispatcher/Customer representative is gentle, yet, can be firm when necessary, is solution oriented, and can take charge whether alone or in a crowd of people. A Dispatcher/ Customer representative can quickly identify potentially harmful situations, and is careful not to create situations where personal injury could be sustained. A Dispatcher/Customer representative is able to assess and react with individuals who cannot communicate well either because of a physical or a communication barrier. A Dispatcher/Customer representative is easily trained and responsive to changes in technology, is able and willing to advance in formal education opportunities, and can remain highly motivated when working alone or under the close supervision, A Dispatcher/Customer representative is able to take criticism and verbal abuse from the public without reacting negatively, has the ability to change a negative situation into a positive situation. A Dispatcher/Customer representative maintains a high standard of personal care, is responsive to requests for assistance from the public or staff members, has no criminal record, and is bondable.

A list of at least three (3) past employers, addresses and telephone numbers should be able to be provided by a Dispatcher/Customer representative and submit to a criminal check

Responsibility:

- **A**ccounting/Data Entry/Animal Control and By-law Enforcement support
- Daily balances income, balances daily receipts, disburses expense monies, records transactions, maintains floats, inputs licenses and cat identification information, receives, records and issues field calls to officers, opens, organizes and distributes incoming mail,
- **C**aring for the public

Day to day practical and imaginative care for Londoners (pet owners and non-pet owners alike) and prospective pet owners who call for tips, training information, problem solves for callers needing solutions, referrals to trainers, accepting of stray incoming animals. Promoting at all times and occasions - Responsible Pet Ownership
- **T**endering assistance

Provides no limits assistance whenever needed or requested to other staff, supervisors, or departments, or projects, with a commitment to advancing the goals and values of LACC, and its objectives in a contract environment in order to secure long-term job satisfaction, long-term job security with the resulting long-term benefit.
