**Laundry Attendant**

The Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre is currently recruiting for a** Laundry Attendant. **Laundry Attendants are responsible for ensuring all linens used by the hotel and our guests are properly sorted, laundered, and readily available for departments as requested. In addition to sorting, washing, and folding all linens, small loads of laundry attendants monitor chemical levels, wash systems, and sequences the Laundry Attendants provide friendly service help to create an exceptional guest experience that drives guest loyalty.

**Key Responsibilities**

Reporting to the Executive Housekeeper, the Laundry Attendant is responsible for:

- Ensures maximum cleaning effectiveness by sorting laundry prior to washing according to fabric type, colour, and item;
- Pulls damaged and/or stained linen prior to loading washers;
- Ensures maximum loading capacity by weighing bed linens prior to washing;
- Loads washers and dryers to recommended weights;
- Saves energy by setting dryers for proper heating and cooling times;
- Places only proper linens in the dryer to be dried;
- Operates, maintains, and cleans laundry equipment according to standards;
- Informs Supervisor or Management of any mechanical failures or supply shortages, so corrective action can be implemented;
- Presses and folds all linen;
- Assists in delivering linen to closets and storage areas;
- Other Duties as assigned.

**What We are Looking for...**
- Experience in hotel housekeeping or laundry is an asset;
- Proven customer service skills;
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time;
- Must be able to work safely with a variety of cleaning chemicals;
- Passionate energetic personality with a team-focused attitude;
- Follow through on daily tasks and key responsibilities, driving a culture of teamwork and fun;
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to multi-task;
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment;
- Enjoys a moderate to a high level of physical effort, position requires significant walking, standing, bending, pushing, pulling;
- Must be available to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons and evenings, weekends, and holidays;
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
