The Chemainus Business Improvement Association (BIA) is on the hunt for an enthusiastic and motivated Event Coordinator to help bring our signature events to life—including large-scale community favourites like the Cowichan Craft Beer and Food Festival

You’ll work closely with the Executive Director, Coordinator, and Board of Directors in a supportive, fast-paced, and fun environment. Whether you're organizing vendors, rallying volunteers, or brainstorming the next exciting experience for our town, you’ll be making a real impact every step of the way.

**Responsibilities**:

- Event Coordination:_
- Coordinate multiple local and regional draw events aimed at attracting tourists and locals to the business community.
- Research and propose innovative event ideas to enhance community engagement.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director, Coordinator and board to brainstorm events and define objectives and goals.
- Planning and Execution:_
- Initiate event planning, defining critical paths and timelines for successful execution.
- Coordinate advertising and graphics for events through various channels.
- Engage in community and business outreach to ensure broad participation.
- Source sponsorships to cover event costs and acquire necessary resources and entertainers.
- Communication and Reporting:_
- Liaise with the Executive Director, Coordinator and board to ensure effective communication throughout the planning process.
- Coordinate press activities and manage communications before, during, and after events.
- Allocate and monitor positions, including volunteer and staff coordination.
- Manage on-site logistics pre
- and post-event, ensuring seamless execution.
- Post-Event Responsibilities:_
- Conduct post-event reporting and metrics analysis.
- Administer post-event surveys to members for feedback.

**Requirements**:

- No prior experience necessary, but organizational and detail-oriented skills are crucial.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and contribute to overall community excitement.
