**Summary of the role**:
- The Strategic Research, Innovation & Partnerships Lead_ plays a pivotal role in advancing EqHS’ mission to transform health systems through equity-focused research and innovative partnerships. This position supports the EqHS team by preparing grant proposals and publications, leading marketing and implementation science efforts, building philanthropic partnerships, and contributing to other responsibilities as required.
The role integrates academic expertise, entrepreneurial vision, and relationship-building skills to drive grant and equity research activities, lead marketing, implementation science, and knowledge mobilization activities related to existing innovative products. The role is responsible for assessing the needs of relevant interest-holders and developing philanthropic and strategic partnerships to secure sustainable funding and expand EqHS’ impact.
**Scope of the role**:
The Strategic Research, Innovation & Partnerships Lead position uniquely integrates three major domains:
**1. Academic Research Leadership**:Includes developing and submitting high-value grant proposals, managing research ethics approvals, and leading peer-reviewed publication processes.
**2. Innovation, Marketing, and Implementation Science**:Involves translating research into market-ready knowledge mobilization products and leading commercialization, communications, and outreach strategies.
**3. Philanthropic and Strategic Partnership Development**:Requires cultivating and managing relationships with funders, donors, government bodies, corporate partners, and advocacy organizations to secure revenue and amplify impact.
**Main duties and responsibilities**:
**Research and Grant Development**
- Prepare grant proposals and submissions, including narrative sections, budgets, and supporting documents
- Develop and edit manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals; manage submission processes and respond to reviewers
- Conduct literature reviews and maintain reference libraries
- Prepare research ethics submissions and amendments
- Develop lay summaries and materials to communicate research findings to non-academic audiences
**Marketing, Implementation Science, Knowledge Mobilization**
- Identify market opportunities for EqHS’ intellectual property, tools, or consulting services
- Develop marketing plans, brand messaging, and knowledge mobilization materials
- Analyze market trends and interest-holder needs to inform strategic direction
- Coordinate digital campaigns, workshops, and interest-holder engagement initiatives
- Collaborate with partners to integrate implementation science into project design and delivery
**Relationship and Partnership Development**
- Identify and cultivate relationships with philanthropic organizations, corporate donors, government agencies, and industry collaborators
- Develop and implement partnership strategies to support revenue generation, research impact, and advancing health equity.
- Negotiate and formalize collaborative agreements and partnerships to advance EqHS initiatives
- Manage stewardship activities, recognition, and tailored communications for both donors and strategic partners
- Track and report on all relationship-building activities using documentation
- Represent EqHS at conferences, partnership meetings, donor events, and community engagements to promote collaboration and support
- Collaborate on the development of storytelling materials, case studies, and impact reports that highlight EqHS' achievements and value to partners'
**Other Duties**

**Qualifications**:
- PhD in relevant field (e.g. Health Sciences, Business, Communications Design, Implementation Science)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
1. Grant writing and management, Research ethics submissions and processes
2. Scientific writing, publication processes, peer-review response
3. Knowledge mobilization and implementation science
4. Marketing, business development, and commercialization strategy
