The laboratory Technician Co-Op will carry out various tasks and responsibilities in the lab. The Technician will be reporting directly to the Materials Engineer. This position is part of Burloak’s current project with CSA under the Space Technology Development Program (STDP) program to establish a space-centric Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) process for Additive Manufactured (AM) components.

**Responsibilities**:

- Performing mechanical/material properties characterization under ISO/ASTM standards. This includes but is not limited to powder testing, metallography, chemical analysis, mechanical testing
- Support Burloak’s activities for research and development programs on materials and process development for additive manufacturing
- Support Burloak’s activities with regards to ISO and NADCAP accreditations for materials and mechanical testing lab
- Perform engineering functions under AS9100 quality management system requirements

**Qualification Requirements**
- Pursuing a college degree or BS in Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical degree with a GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Eligible for the co-op program for the duration of the contract
- Demonstrated computer knowledge with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e Word, Excel, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage routine correspondence, diversified workload, rapidly changing priorities, and challenging deadlines
- Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills; problem-solving / troubleshooting skills
- Ability to be comfortable moving and working around the lab for multiple hours
