**Duties and Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager (Business Academic Operations), the Administrative Assistant - Dean’s Office works in a public service area and is required to work in person in a highly collegial, team environment; acts as the immediate back-up to the Administrative Assistant - Faculty Services, plays an on-going supporting role as needed and during peak periods for the Manager (Business Academic Operations), and the Dean and supports the on-going operations of the Sprott School of Business by acting as a front office resource for other units including our undergraduate, graduate and professional programs.
**Qualifications**:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Must have demonstrated experience working with MS Office and Banner, and the ability to adapt to a changing electronic environment;
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills; must have the ability to organize work effectively in a fast-paced office environment, set priorities and meet strict deadlines with mínimal supervision;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills: must have the ability to professionally represent the School and deal effectively with faculty members/contract instructors, students, staff and public;
- Ability to act with discretion, tact and diplomacy when dealing with staff, faculty members/contract instructors, students and the public;
- Ability to independently respond to queries and resolve problems;
- Must have demonstrated excellence with time management skills; must have the ability to simultaneously work on several assignments with pressures of multiple demands, interruptions and changing priorities;
- Must have demonstrated experience working in a highly-collegial, team environment; and
- Must have demonstrated excellence in customer service including experience working in a public service area.
**Education and Experience**:
The above is normally acquired through the completion of:
- Administrative diploma program (two-year in business, secretarial science or related discipline from a recognized college or post-secondary educational institution).
- Minimum one year of directly related experience.
