**General Labourer**

**Supervisor**:General Foreman

**Regular Hours of Work**:40 hours per week

**Location**:Edmonton

**Functional Summary**
- Reporting to the General Foreman, the General Labourer is required to perform general labour and maintenance work and comply with workplace safety regulations and other Company policies and procedures.

**Responsibilities, Duties and Tasks**
- Working under the direction and Supervision of the Shop Foreman, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- **_
Workplace Safety_**
- Promotes and practices safety in the work place at all times to ensure the health of oneself and others
- Complies with all safety rules and practices as set by Occupational Health and Safety, WBM and any and all other relevant safety regulations and requirements
- **_ General Labour_**
- Assist in various areas of the shop
- Material handling and moving parts throughout shop
- Organize and itemize pieces
- Grind parts using hand grinder
- **_ Maintenance_**
- Clean and maintain the work areas and equipment
- Clean and maintain the yard and storage areas
- Perform painting duties
- Immerse metal products in cleaning solutions
- **_ Other Duties_**
- Performs other duties as required

**Qualifications**

**Note**:_An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered._**

Experience_**
- Relevant experience is an asset

**_
Knowledge_**
- Knowledge of general safety practices
- General knowledge of basic tools and equipment

**_
Skills_**
- Mechanical inclination with manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination skills
- Communication skills to read, write, listen, and speak in a clear and concise manner
- Interpersonal skills work collaboratively and cooperatively with others
- Time management skills to productively complete work and meet all expected deadlines

Abilities_**
- Learns quickly and is willing to ask questions
- Safety conscious
- Follows instructions thoroughly and uses good judgment
- Demonstrates strong work ethics (attendance, punctuality, reliability, honesty, etc.)
- Physically fit to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs.
