**Job Summary**

The Shipper-Receiver, under the direction of the Warehouse Supervisor, will primarily be responsible to manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices. This position will operate lifting devices such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hoists. This role will also inspect and verify shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged goods, repair and repackage damaged product. The Shipper-Receiver must possess high school diploma, GED, or equivalent and minimum of one year of related warehousing experience. Forklift experience and certifications are preferred.

**Job Duties**
- Manually load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, and lifting devices
- Operate lifting devices such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hoists
- Inspect and verify shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off; reject damaged goods, repair and repackage damaged product
- Manually arranging correct number of boxes, bulk packs or singles on to a wooden skid or into single boxes for orders
- Ensure trailer is clean and has been swept
- Unpack, code, and direct goods and materials to appropriate storage locations
- Review requisition orders for accuracy and completeness
- Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately
- Complete daily inspections and weekly servicing of forklift
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on all equipment and tools
- Aid trucks into loading or unloading positions, following signals from crew as needed; check that vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned
- Ensure that any debris caused by the loading or unloading of truck is cleaned up
- Oversee cargo handling and secure loads in accordance with established safety requirements
- Prepare appropriate paperwork for shipping, including bills of lading, customs forms, and invoices
- Accurately and appropriately file correspondence, invoices, and receipts
- Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times
- Compile, verify, record, and process documentation
- Complete all necessary paperwork at the end of the shift, including daily logs, inspection logs, delivery receipts, vehicle inspection, and hours of service, following applicable provincial and federal regulations
- Complete housekeeping taks: cleaning dock plates 2x per year, cleaning floor cracks in department 1x per month, remove broken skids to proper area, sanding parking lot and gravel pails during winter, installing and removing screen loading doors

**Job Requirements**
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of related warehousing experience
- Forklift experience considered an asset
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting demands
- Ability to work individually as well as part of a team
- Demonstrated knowledge of driving rules and regulations
- Demonstrated time management skills
- High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment
