The Forklift Operator / Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move materials throughout the warehouse. This role also includes tasks related to inventory control, such as maintaining accurate stock records, performing cycle counts, and assisting with the receipt and organization of goods. The position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively with warehouse and production teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate forklifts to move, locate, stack, and count products.
  • Load and unload goods from trucks and storage areas. Prepare pallets of hardwood for safe transport.
  • Perform daily equipment checks to ensure forklifts are in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse inventory software (FishBowl) when needed.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and support full physical inventory audits.
  • Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies or shortages to necessary staff.
  • Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing inbound shipments.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, company policies, and procedures.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Assist production teams in small batch production runs. Feeding and unloading of hardwood planks from production line when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid forklift certification/license.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or stock management.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems or procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret inventory documents, bills of lading, and pick lists.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 kg. and work in various warehouse conditions.

Preferred Skills:

  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, or inventory software).
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.

Working Conditions:

· Personal protective equipment (steel toed boots, safety glasses, gloves, etc.) needed at times.

· Lifting of hardwood cartons approximately 20-40 kg in weight needed.

· Prolonged periods of standing and/or sitting.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $38,500.00-$44,000.00 per year
