- and choreography-based fitness classes and looking for a way to give back to your community? The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking group fitness lovers with a passion and talent for relationship building and role modeling a healthy lifestyle. This volunteer position will lead cardio-based classes, work on strategies to improve members’ experience, and assist in instructing group fitness classes. Above all else, we are on a constant quest to make our community stronger, if you want to join us**Position Responsibilities**- Provide quality instruction of group strength classes for participants of various skills and abilities.-
- Deliver high quality services through excellent relationships with members.-
- Relay program information and upcoming YMCA events to members.-
- Class set up and take down, keeping group fitness equipment organized and in good repair.-
- Role model recruitment and retention of members, best practices, and a healthy lifestyle.-
- Demonstrate and promote a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values and the YMCA programs and services.**What**
**You’ll**
**Need**- Availability: Morning, evening or weekends and availability to sub on occasion.-
- Current certification in CPR-A is required.-
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.-
- Group fitness certification with specialization in cardio or choreography is required.-
- Additional cardio-based, choreography or dance-based fitness certifications (Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing, Step) considered an asset.-
- Currently participating in fitness classes an asset.-
- Experience working with others in a customer service capacity.-
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and multitasking skills.-
- Friendly, energetic, positive attitude and organization.-
- Ability to lead group fitness programming (including class planning & building choreography).-
