Under the direction of the General Manager, the Advanced Manufacturing Research Coordinator assists the research team lead and the Project Manager in the coordination of a range of applied research projects and related activities, through outreach to business and liaison with faculty and staff for project development and clients/suppliers relationship.

The incumbent is directly responsible in providing support to all research project teams (staff, students,) to facilitate successful project outcomes, including but not limited to; supporting change requests from industry partners, revision of project schedules and budgets in collaboration with Project Managers, and investigation of new technologies.

**What you’ll be doing**:
**Project Development & Project Coordination**
- Scope projects, working with industry partners and project team to identify and define agreed upon project deliverables in collaboration with GM.
- Under the supervision of GM, develop and manage detailed project schedules and workplans; execute planning, organization and management of short-, mid
- and long-term research and program evaluation, including design, program implementation, timelines and milestones.
- Delegate limited project tasks to student employees, provide mentoring and coaching to student employees active in project implementation.
- Ensure the successful delivery of commitments to industry partners, including project outcomes and associated IP, ensure project delivery within established scope, cost and timelines.
- Plan and maintain limited project budgets according to agree-upon project deliverables.

**Project Delivery Support & AMIC Operations Support**
- In collaboration with GM, build and manage client and stakeholder relationships, liaise as necessary with internal and external stakeholders including funders, clients, and community members to support project delivery.
- Provide support to the applied research activities as part of internal and external projects.
- Support staff in the planning and preparation of key documentation.
- Conduct experiments and/or technical setups based on direct instructions from senior research staff.
- Perform tasks as assigned and related to the Centre day-to-day activities.
- Actively participate in and manage and/or support multiple ongoing projects as assigned by senior leader.

**Identify and Track Relevant Industry Trends to Support AMIC Work**
- Assist in tracking relevant manufacturing industry trends; and work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to develop matching expertise and project capacity.
- Conduct literature reviews and synthesize findings.
- Support in the preparation of briefing materials, reports, speaking notes and correspondence on current project activities.
- Prepare reports, documentation and communications in verbal and written formats for various stakeholders.
- Collect data and organize information required for project planning and execution.
- Detail oriented, with respect to quality and accuracy of work.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Minimum of three-year post-secondary education or degree in Mechanical Engineering, with knowledge of metallurgical processes, materials properties (plastics, polymers, metals).
- Ability to prioritize work and manage deadlines as needed.
- Ability to work independently, while being a collaborative member of the team.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills including the ability to work effectively with others.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, priorities, deadlines and must be able to utilize problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot.
- It is an asset but not required to have the following experience: Applied Research Experience - experience working with applied research in the field of advanced manufacturing/Project Management and Delivery Experience - experience conducting applied research project work including project scoping, budget development, project delivery and stakeholder management/Research methods and data analysis - experience le
