**Personal Support Worker (PSW)**

As a Personal Support Worker (PSW) at FutureCare, you will provide personal care and perform selected tasks under the direction of your supervisor, adhering to regulatory standards, our client’s policies and procedures and FutureCare policies.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Follow the plan of care as determined by the supervisor.
- Assist residents with personal care, hygiene, and activities of daily living.
- Observe and report changes in residents' conditions to the supervisor.
- Escalate medical emergencies to the supervisor or emergency services as needed.
- Plan and prepare nutritious meals as required.
- Assist with ambulation, transfers, and the use of adaptive aids.
- Provide cognitive, social, emotional, and psychological support to residents and their families.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Address resident and family concerns, taking appropriate action or communicating to the supervisor.
- Help maintain a safe and clean environment, including equipment and personal belongings.
- Report any safety concerns regarding residents to the supervisor and advocate for their safety.
- Engage with other agencies involved in resident care as directed.
- Attend training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Uphold and promote FutureCare's values and philosophy related to ethics and integrity.
- Complete other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate of a Personal Support Worker program (or equivalent with a minimum of 600 hours of theory and practicum).
- At least 1 year of experience working with seniors
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of personal care duties.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid certification required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and transferring clients.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

Flexible language requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- personal support: 1 year (preferred)
