**JOB SUMMARY**

The HR /Health and Safety Coordinator must perform a range of duties supporting the HR Manager, other managers within the organization, and employees on a day-to-day basis. In this role, the incumbent will oversee the Temporary Foreign Worker program. The workers are from Mexico, so speaking Spanish is a key role requirement.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Temporary Foreign Workers (TFW) Related**

Act as the main contact for TFWs, providing daily assistance with:

- Online banking, paystubs, and software (e.g., ADP)
- Obtaining required documents (e.g., OHIP, Ontario drivers’ license, SIN)
- Ordering supplies and scheduling appointments.
- Coordinating transportation (e.g., flights, groceries)
- Managing migrant housing needs and maintaining communication via various channels.
- Addressing any other TFW-related requests.
- Support compliance inspections and audits (e.g., Public Health, Service Canada)
- Maintain TFW arrival and departure schedules.
- Update orientation and training materials, including translations.
- Manage TFW program requirements and communications with relevant parties.
- Serve as backup for the HR Manager in TFWP duties.
- Support TFW-related programming, training, and resources as needed.

**Health and Safety Coordinator**
- Ensure compliance with the company's health and safety program for all personnel and visitors.
- Monitor regulatory changes and update programs accordingly.
- Co-chair the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC), managing member training, meeting documentation, and committee operations.
- Help with Health and Safety reporting and requirements.
- Conduct and document monthly workplace/migrant housing inspections, address hazards, and manage spot audits.
- Respond to and resolve health and safety concerns, assist with inspections, and collaborate on corrective actions.
- Partner on injury/accident reporting, WSIB claims, and return-to-work plans.
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, training materials, and procedures.
- Schedule and manage external safety training; potentially conduct internal training once certified.
- Maintain safety records, boards, and equipment, coordinate safety equipment inspections.
- Assist with fire extinguisher inspections, risk assessments, and new operational reviews.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures and safety initiatives for continuous improvement.

**HR Administration Support**:

- Handle general HR inquiries and direct them to appropriate HR representatives.
- Assist with HR projects, policy administration, and translation of materials.
- Maintain and update HR documentation and records in various systems.
- Manage HR inventory and order necessary materials and supplies.
- Track HR calendars and deadlines, including training and regulatory requirements.
- Support Health and Safety priorities as needed.
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures for HR tasks.
- Prepare and proofread HR documents and reports.
- Assist with additional HR administrative tasks as needed.
