POSITION**:Art Gallery Sales and Promotions Clerk**

LOCATION: Lougheed Highway (Hwy 7) between Agassiz and Hope, BC

**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Office Manager, the Art Gallery Sales and Promotions Clerk (hereafter referred to as “the
Clerk”) takes an active role in overseeing and promoting the Ruby Creek Art Gallery (RCAG).

The RCAG is located in the Skawahlook (Sq'ewá: lxw) First Nation administrative centre at 58611A Lougheed
Highway (Hwy 7), approximately midway between Agassiz and Hope.

The Clerk is responsible for the day-to-day activities in the RCAG, as well as website and social media promotions to the general public. **This position is 32 hours per week, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Thursday**. Salary is commensurate with experience and full medical/dental and retirement benefits are offered upon completion of a three-month probation period.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Open and close Ruby Creek Art Gallery (Monday-Thursday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
- Greet visitors and assist them with information and selecting merchandise
- Marking and ticketing merchandise
- Decorating and stocking display cabinets
- Operating cash register, Interac machine, etc.
- Basic cleaning (cleaning counters, sweeping the floor)
- Maintaining computerized database of inventory
- Ensuring RCAG is free of hazards to the public
- Maintaining and update RCAG website
- Taking and fill online orders
- Researching and sourcing stock as directed by the Managing Director or Office Manager
- Booking cultural tours at the Syéx̱w Chó: leqw Adventure Park and corresponding with our tour guides on dates/times

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Good presentation skills
- Greeting visitors and assisting them in selecting merchandise
- Decorating and stocking Gallery and creating merchandise displays
- Knowledge of cash register, Interac, etc.
- Ability to photograph and upload photos/information to Website and social media
- Knowledge of taking and filling online orders
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture generally and Stó: lō culture and history particularly
- Ability to promote and represent the Ruby Creek Art Gallery.
- Other related duties as assigned. _
- This position may require occasional Friday or weekend work. _

**Training, Education, Certification and Experience**
- Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years experience in retail sales
- Understanding First Nations business in a broad sense
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s license.
