**What you'll do**:

- Reporting to the Team Manager, Infrastructure and Operations this position is responsible for carrying out the day to day operations of the IBM computer systems including running jobs; creating, designing, and printing forms; troubleshooting; loading and maintaining software; backup and restore; and imaging. In addition, this position is responsible for creating, deleting, and maintaining user profiles and monitoring systems within both the IBM isystem and corporate imaging.
- Monitor the IBM isystem partitions and management console for disk space and error messages regarding printers, jobs, users, and disks.
- Coordinate and perform system backup, restore and disaster recovery while maintaining optical and tape libraries.
- Sync new libraries and non-mirrored objects to backup portion and monitor storage used and journal entries.
- Schedule, coordinate and run job, including: cheque runs, nightly print jobs, backups, special runs, etc.
- Maintain system security and corporate menu setup within IBM i, including user setup configurations and deletions, queries regarding user stats, password management and imaging setup.
- Administer, troubleshoot, and assist with corporate imaging and scanning software.
- Create, design and test IBM iforms to Corporate Standards.
- Print computer generated forms and cheques for SCIC customers ensuring quality printouts.
- Maintain forms repository for advanced function printing (AFP).
- Convert signatures and logos to format compatible with IBM i.
- Convert AFP to Adobe PDF for users to access forms for viewing.
- Coordinate and assist with system software and hardware upgrades.
- Complete in depth system testing after upgrades are implemented.
- Maintain and support software and upgrades for operating system and 3rd party products.

**Qualifications**:

- To be successful in this position you will need a certificate or diploma in a computer science technical program supplemented by directly related experience.
- Advanced knowledge of computer hardware and software as well as programs and equipment used by SCIC.
- Strong computer skills with experience with operating systems, backup and restore software, and high speed systems printing.
- A criminal record check is required.
