**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, Water Services, this new and exciting opportunity would be well suited for a transformational leader who is looking to be part of a dynamic team. The Manager, SCADA and Operational Technology (Water) will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the SCADA and associated systems as well as cyber security monitoring, SCADA asset and data management, and OT renewal activities for the Division.

**What you will do**:

- You will supervise Engineers and Supervisors as well as indirectly supervise technologists, additional staff, and students. You will administer contracts with consultants, contractors and corporate ITS.
- We will look to you to manage the day to day SCADA and OT activities for the Division, including business continuity, disaster recovery, and renewal projects.
- You will have the responsibility of managing feasibility studies, pre-design, pilot projects, and SCADA OT master plan. As well, you will also manage technical resources supporting SCADA-related capital projects during design, construction, and commissioning. You will prepare reports on short and long-term strategy and planning for SCADA OT system to serve the water supply and wastewater treatment.
- You will develop terms of reference for major studies and projects and participate on project teams to manage implementation of feasibility studies for pre-design, design, and construction projects
- You will represent the Division’s interests on SCADA OT engineering projects and ensure compliance with water and wastewater related legislation, corporate ITS security, technical infrastructure, and data standards.
- You will coordinate the development and maintenance of computer models used in operational planning and development purposes and provide input into developing new SCADA-related tools, management tools, and information systems.
- We will look to you to provide input to the Division’s capital budget, including software/hardware purchases, studies, approvals, and analysis.
- You will coordinates phasing and funding for 10-year capital forecasts with Manager of Engineering & Planning.

**What you will bring**:

- Must be registered as a professional engineer with the Professional Engineers of Ontario.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of and ability to comply with policies, procedures, collective agreements, and legislation (e.g., environment, natural resources, water protection, health and safety, security, technology infrastructure and data).
- Strong negotiation, analytical, problem solving, and continuous improvement skills to plan and develop objectives and goals, including administrative, technical, operational, and financial components; prepare and administer budgets; and lead program and process changes to support effective, efficient operations.
- Proven leadership, human relations, and communication skills to manage, develop, motivate, and support staff; prepare and conduct presentations and open houses to Council, committees, staff, agencies, interest groups, and the public; and participate as an effective team member.
- Ability to write detailed reports and presentations for committees, regional and area municipal Councils, staff, the media, and the public.
- Advanced technology skills with ability to use desktop software such as Microsoft Office, with in-depth knowledge and experience with IT/OT infrastructure, including security, data management, integration, management information systems, and computer/data modelling.
- Ability to participate in an official standby/on-call rotation to respond to legislated or time sensitive demands beyond regularly scheduled work hours.
- Ability to travel within Waterloo Region.
- Ability to support and demonstrate the Region’s values.
