This is a General Labour role which provides backup coverage to the Shipping department. Slotter Take Off wage is $27.05 per hour. When providing backup to Shipping, will be paid $28.23. Rotating shifts - 2 pm to 10 pm; 10 pm to 6 am; 6 am to 2 pm.

**Broad Purpose**:
MAIN FUNCTION: Slotter Take Off: To safely operate and maintain all press equipment and machinery to produce quality products per company quality policy.

FOR TEMPORARY (OCCASSIONAL) ASSIGNMENT - SHIPPING: To safely operate the tow motor and accurately complete associated paperwork to prepare and load goods for timely shipment to customer. Receiving incoming materials/goods, per company quality policy

**General Job Duties - Slotter Take Off (Main function)**:

- Work in a team environment and be a team player
- Follow instructions from the Operator
- Will be required to set up and operate machine as per orders
- Verify specifications with production copy
- Keep ample supply of bottom sheets available
- Stack and pile units as per customer requirements as stated on documentation
- Visually and continually inspect for any non-conformances
- To take off the machine at or above the standards set by the company
- Accurately complete time sheets
- Follow all ISO and HACCP procedures
- Report all problems to your Operator and/or Supervisor when they occur
- Other duties as assigned

**General Job Duties - Shipper (Temporary/occasional function)**:

- Must have a valid tow motor permit to safely load or unload trailers and trucks as required and take off the line as required
- Verify counts on production copies with actual product
- Load trailers/trucks so as to achieve maximum space utilization and take off the line as required
- Note if any damaged goods are received have delivery person sign delivery slip confirming the damage
- Visually inspect for any non-conformances
- Follow all required procedures
- Report all problems to your supervisor or lead hand when they occur
- Perform daily check list on the tow motor.
- Other sundries duties as assigned by supervisor or lead hand

**Safety Responsibility and Accountability**:

- Follow equipment specific physical lock out tag out procedure
- Report all hazards / problems to your Operator and/or Supervisor when they occur.

Other available tools are when hazard rating is low.
- Pre-use inspection form
- Use Manager plus and place a work request
- Use of hazard reporting form
- Report injury / incident to your Supervisor immediately
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety act, and Good housekeeping practices.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) - Gloves, sleeves, safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, Hi
- viz vest in Shipping/warehouse
- Abide by all plant rules, safety rules and regulations of the Company
- Keep fire equipment and exits clear all time
- Zero Tolerance - Workplace Violence and Harassment: Refer to the policy posted on the H&S board.
- Shipper function: Mobile equipment operator to ensure daily operator checklist is completed before use. I.e. Clamp truck, Forklift, Elevated work platforms.
- Shipper function: Ensure Dock safety training is followed.

**Education**:
Minimum High School Diploma

Basic Math

**Essential Skills/Qualifications**:
Must have a valid tow motor permit to safely load or unload trailers and trucks as required and take off the line as required - Counter Balance/Tow Motor - Propane

Must have more than three years of experience driving Counter Balance/Tow Motor - Propane

Previous manufacturing experience an asset

Machine operation skills

Organization skills

Good communication

Flexibility to work rotating shifts (all three shifts)

Team Player

Self starter
