Gourmet Chef is a division of Premium Brands Holdings Corporation (TSX: PBH) which owns a broad range of leading specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution businesses with operations.

We are looking for Sanitation Associate who is responsible for the safety of products and all daily sanitation activities are followed with the Standard Operating Procedures, GMP and HACCP guidelines, alignment and compliance to SQF Standards.

SUMMARY:
Cleans and sanitizes production plant while establishing standards in an organized and efficient manner.

Available shifts: 4:00pm - 12:30am

**SPECIFIC DUTIES**:

- General housekeeping of production areas, non-production areas, and storage areas
- Clean production areas, storage areas, and equipment with wash-down and wipe-down cleaning method as required (kitchen, production room, raw & finish goods cooler, holding & blast freezer, shipping/receiving area, etc.)
- Clean, sanitize, and collect garbage from non-production areas (board room, offices, lunchroom, washrooms, first-aid room, etc.)
- Refill soap, sanitizer, and paper rolls and other supplies as needed
- Communicate effectively with other team members in coordinating activities as needed
- Work with QA team to understand any pre-op findings
- Operate simple and heavy equipment as applicable to sanitation job function
- Follow 7 Steps of Procedure of Sanitation as applicable to job function (Preparation, Pre-rinse, Wet pick-up, Detergent Application, Final rinse, Inspection, Sanitize)
- Follow GMP policy and HACCP processes as applicable to job function
- Other duties as assigned (vacuuming, sanitizing, foaming production areas daily, etc.)

**POSITION REQUIREMENTS**:

Knowledge & Skills
- Entry-level position: no specific prior job knowledge or skills is required
- Basic English communication skills (speaking, listening)
- Able to perform sanitation procedures to established standards (on-the job training provided)

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT**
- Lifting: maximum 50 pounds (approx. 22 kg) unassisted; frequent lifting and carrying of up to 25 pounds (11 kg)
- Standing/walking: 100% of time on shift
- Hand use: single grasping, pushing, and pulling
- Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, reaching
- Low temperatures: Frequent exposure to 4°C in cooler and periodic exposure -18°C in freezer
- Frequent exposure to approved cleaning chemicals, sanitizing agents, and water - with appropriate protective apparel
- Exposure to wet/cold conditions - potential for ice and slippery working conditions
- Exposure to excessive noise
