**Description**:
**Objective & Overview**
Lafarge, Canada’s leading supplier of construction materials has an opportunity for a Quality Technician at our Meldrum Bay QuarryThe hourly rate starts at $27.92/hr and increases to $28.92/hr after the probationary period.**Responsibilities**
- **Safety**: Implementation of Lafarge Safety Policies, and Compliance with Government Legislation. Safety Induction of Visitors to Quality Lab or site as required. Execution of Job Hazard Analyses for QC Tasks, and implementation of Action Items. Execution and implementation of Lab/QC Safety Improvement Plans.
- **Aggregate Product Performance**: Implement programs and processes to ensure compliance of all products with relevant Codes, Standards, and Specifications. Implement Lafarge Quality Program, including sampling, testing, reporting and follow up for all products as determined for each site of responsibility. Record, Monitor and communicate Aggregate KPI performance with key stakeholders as required - investigate variances from Plan and establish corrective actions as required. Participate in or lead the development and implementation of site specific actions to reduce and/or utilize long products, including innovating new combination materials. Provide input to ensure alignment between Sales and Operational staff to ensure product performance meets customer expectations
- **Physical attributes**:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, grasp, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; climb stairs & ladders; reach with hands and arms; talk, hear and smell. Infrequently the employee is required to work in awkward situations; balance; stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50+ pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Employee must perform work outdoors in all weather conditions, and will work around moving mechanical parts and equipment. Various PPE will include safety boots, reflective clothing, safety glasses, gloves and hard hat. Additional PPE may be required depending upon tasks.

- Reports to the area Quality Control Supervisor.
- Works closely with Production Staff, Distribution Staff, and Sales Territory Manager

**Dimensions**:**Qualification Profile**:
**Education & Work Experience**:
- Post-secondary education in Civil engineering or equivalent an asset
- Ontario high school diploma (OSSD) or equivalent is preferred.
**Knowledge & Skills**:
- Should have excellent written and oral communication skills and capable of creating good relationships internally and externally with our customers.
- Must also be able to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Good computer skills for Windows based software.
- Driver License, minimum G2.
**Work Environment**:
- Must be able to work in outdoor and indoor work environments in all weather.
- Flexible hours will be required which will include overtime and weekend work.
- Able to perform a variety of tasks, including moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, carrying.
- This role will require the handling of aggregates lab equipment.
