We are hiring a Manager of Facilities & Safety to help continue to build our high performing operations and join us in our mission to create healthy spaces for people to live, work and play in a sustainable way. This role will oversee our Facilities operations and Safety program to increase employee health and safety, and create opportunities for cost savings, product quality, and operational improvements. The manager will work across all teams in the company to ensure our facilities and safety programs meet our goals of operational excellence and employee engagement.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**_ Facilities:_**
- Oversee and manage all Oxygen8 facilities to meet operational, regulatory and contractual requirements, in a safe and secure manner.
- Work closely with operations, manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure that the facility is conducive to efficient and effective operations.
- Ensure building systems (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, security) are operating effectively; manage service, maintenance, and vendor relationships.
- Plan for operational expansion and scale-up into new and larger facilities.
- Primary point of contact with landlords, ensuring that lease documentation is up to date and landlord required maintenance and repairs are conducted appropriately.
- Develop and maintain accurate and accessible records, reports and related drawings
- Lead efforts to investigate and address facilities related quality issues, ensuring corrective actions are implemented efficiently.
- Develop and manage the facilities budget (OPEX and CAPEX), focusing on cost reduction, operational efficiency, and future expansion.
- Responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with local building codes, Fire codes and municipal regulations and bylaws (Building permits etc.)
- Manage the company’s garbage and recycling programs, including management of vendor relationships.

Safety:_**
- Develop, implement and continuously improve health and safety programs in alignment with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
- Facilitates safety audits and inspections of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Build a culture of safety and continuous improvement to help create a safe and positive work environment for all employees.
- Work with operations to identify and create new safety related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Lead and manage the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC), holding monthly meetings, recoding minutes, inspections and ensuring actions are completed.
- Responsible for all WorkSafeBC (WSBC) reporting (incidents / leaves, inspections, compliance reports etc.); main liaison with WSBC and its officers.
- In conjunction with the People & Culture department, coordinate on employee leaves (safety related) and establish safety training programs.
- Deliver safety training and facility orientations to new staff.
- Manage first-aid program and training, ensuring regulatory compliance and coverage.
- Establish, monitor and report on safety performance indicators, safety investigations, and injury reports.

**Experience and Skills**:

- Degree in a related Engineering discipline, Operations Management, or Safety (or equivalent experience)
- 10+ yrs experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (minimum of 5 years at the managerial level)
- Extensive experience with facilities operations (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, maintenance management)
- Deep understanding of health & safety regulations
- Experience in setting up and running safety committees and training programs
- Experience with 5S, Kaizen and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Knowledge in supply chain and planning of both production and materials
- Outstanding communication ability, including negotiation skills and assertiveness
- Exceptional time management and problem-solving skills, ability to multi-task and execute
- Solid computer skills (Excel, ERP experience an advantage)
