**The Role.**

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Payroll Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for all VVA Communities pay groups. You will be responsible for maintaining employee records, managing payroll system updates and modifications, reconciling government-related documents, and providing support to managers and employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues.

**Responsibilities**:

- Execute payroll processing for all VVA Community pay groups, strictly adhering to timelines
- Record and maintain personal and payroll information for community's salaried employees
- Maintain records of employee entitlements and balances, including but not limited to vacation, sick days, overtime, and statutory holiday pay
- Manage updates, modifications, and policy changes within the payroll system
- Prepare union dues reports and complete cheque requisitions for union dues
- Issue Record of Employment (ROE) as required
- Prepare monthly payroll Journal Entries and post to each Communities General Ledger
- Setup payroll elections for vacation per pay, benefits enrollment, garnishments, RRSP, and union dues
- Reconcile annual government-related documents to ensure accuracy
- Administer RRSP enrollments, changes, and cancelations
- Perform payroll adjustments, including correcting errors and reissuing payments
- Provide assistance to managers and employees with payroll-related inquiries and issues
- Conduct training sessions for new managers, covering company payroll policies and procedures
- Generate standard or ad hoc HR or payroll reports
- Manage projects, including new system implementations
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to internal and external inquiries
- Guide on legislative requirements related to payroll
- Demonstrate flexibility in working hours to meet business needs and deadlines
- Perform additional payroll-related duties as required
- A degree or diploma in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
- Mandatory possession of Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) designation
- At least 5 years of experience in payroll processing
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations and employment standards
- Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or similar payroll software
- Understanding of Union contracts and impacts to payroll processing
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to convey complex payroll information
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and ability to analyze payroll data for accuracy and compliance
- Effective time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to provide excellent customer service and address concerns with professionalism
- Adherence to ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Willingness to stay updated on changes in payroll regulations through continuous learning
