**Job Title**:Emergency Response Coordinator
**Salary**: $43,855.06 - $53,252.58 - $62,650.09
**Contract**: Fulltime, Permanent
**Hours**: 4-day work week, Mon - Thurs (36 hrs)
**Location**: Ladysmith, BC
**About The Role**
The Emergency Response Coordinator is responsible for developing and implementing long-term strategies for the Stz’uminus Emergency Program, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements while addressing community needs. Key duties include managing the day-to-day activities of the program, recruiting and overseeing volunteers, and collaborating with various agencies and neighboring communities to coordinate effective emergency preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. The coordinator also develops essential plans, such as the Community Emergency Plan and Fire Plan, and plays a crucial role in promoting public education on emergency preparedness and safety.
**Qualifications**
- A certificate or higher (degree) in Emergency Management, Public Safety, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in emergency management, disaster response, or a related field, preferably within Indigenous communities or organizations.

The Salary Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full-time equivalent hours.
Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements.
The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
