Physician Assistant

MedCare Clinics is a multi-specialty medical clinic located inrampton, Ontario. MedCare Clinics’ mission is to provide exceptional medical care to the patients of the surrounding communities. MedCare Clinics services include providing care in a family practice setting as well as a walk-in practice where patients are always welcome. The MedCare Clinics team also includes specialty physicians that practice Internal Medicine, OBGYN, Cardiology, Allergy & Immunology, Medical Aesthetics & more. MedCare Clinics has clinics with access to an on-site blood lab, INR testing, review and treatment services, all vaccinations including seasonal flu vaccinations and more. All services are provided by our Medical Team of Physicians, Clinical Assistants, Registered Nurses, Scribes & Phlebotomists. MedCare Clinics is looking to grow their team with the addition of a Physician/Clinical Assistant. The Physician/Clinical Assistant will work under the direct supervision of our qualified Physicians.

**Duties & Responsibilities**

The Physician/Clinical Assistant’s duties, under supervision and involvement of the Physician, will include the following:

- Complete triaging
- Prepare detailed, high-quality assessments, treatment reports and clinical documentation in our EMR (Accuro)
- Complete patient medical history & physical examination
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (labs, x-rays, ultrasounds, etc.)
- Educate and counsel patients
- Immunization - you will vaccinate patients as per Public Health vaccination schedule
- Prescribe Medications
- Collaborate with the physician to ensure the quality of patient care
- Escort patients to exam rooms, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in the patient's E-Chart
- Refer patients for specialized care and/or consults

**Required Education, Skills and Qualifications**
- Completion and Pass of QE1 and NAC OSCE Or US / UK exams is required
- Completion of a Clinical Assistant program is an asset
- International Medical Graduate with extensive Clinical Assistant or independent practice experience is an asset
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and other relevant software
- Excellent communication skills in English with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals (spoken, written, reading and comprehension); other languages are considered an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic healthcare setting
- Possess an acute sense of autonomy, professionalism, and respect for ethical principles
- You have excellent written and verbal communication with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions to patients while demonstrating empathy, listening, and interpersonal skills

**Scheduling & Compensation Details**
- MedCare Clinics offers competitive salary and flexible hours
- Committed, reliable, and flexible regarding scheduling of shifts (i.e., days, evenings, and weekends).
- Flexibility regarding working at multiple clinic/office locations in the city
- Shifts will include some weekend coverage. 40 hours/week. 8-10 hours per day shifts - schedule varies based on your availability. Location will be inBrampton, Ontario

**Salary may be negotiated based on education and experience**

Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Experience**:

- Completion and Pass of QE1 and NAC OSCE Or US / UK exams: 1 year (preferred)
- Completion of Clincal/Physician Assistant program: 1 year (preferred)
- Accuo EMR: 1 year (preferred)
- Canadian Prescribing: 1 year (preferred)
