Cowichan Woodwork Ltd. is located in the heart of Cobble Hill working in a newer building with a custom shop and showroom to offer staff and clients a unique experience when they visit for the first time. Our shop has the latest CNC technology with two machines working simultaneously. Our shop has all the tools necessary at your disposal which you will use to finish producing client projects.

**What your role as a cabinet shop team member looks like**:

- Processing, sanding, and machine parts used in cabinetry or furniture using a variety of woodworking machines, hand tools and techniques.
- Assembling finished cabinetry and furniture parts, both panel and painted product.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and well-organized workspace.

**Qualifications and Skills that would be an asset**:

- Previous cabinet and furniture processing experience, working in another trade, or service industry.
- Apprenticeship training and any levels achieved.
- Teamwork skills and the ability to work independently
- Excellent communications skills both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and following directions thoroughly
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently while performing repetitive tasks
- Ability to be self-motivated
- Ability to solve issues as they arises

**Training opportunities provided**:

- Cabinetmaker Apprenticeship (HL) 2023, if commitment and performance criteria met.
- CNC operation and maintenance (Computer controlled woodworking machine).
- Edge Bander operation and maintenance.
- Woodworking equipment such as table saw, bandsaw, jointer, planer and wide belt sander.
- Wood finishing, stain, lacquer, paint, prep and sanding.
- Forklift certification.
- WHIMIS certification.
- First aid certification.
