To continue to support the work that we do, the Agency is looking for a full-time Child and Youth Worker to join our team.
The Child and Youth Worker provides, children, youth and families with preventative supportive services, education, and assessment that are rooted in the provision of concrete strategies to manage child behaviour. This position works in collaboration with other Agency staff to reduce the need for protection, strengthen families, and build resiliency to promote healthy child development and positive family functioning. This position requires evening work as well as every other Saturday.
**Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications**:
- Child and Youth Worker Diploma or relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent
- Two (2) years’ experience in working with at risk families and/or alternative caregivers.
- Demonstrated experience in working in family homes to promote positive change in family functioning utilizing a family centred practice approach.
- Solid understanding of child development and attachment and trauma informed practice
- NCI Certification would be considered an asset
- Valid ‘G’ Ontario Driver’s License and access to reliable vehicle
Employment at Family & Children's Services of the Waterloo Region is conditional upon the verification of credentials and employment, a satisfactory police check, and a satisfactory Child Welfare check.
**Salary Range**:$54,919.90-$68,099.82 per annum (Social Work, Grade 6)
**Hours of Work: 40 hours per week**
