Operations Manager for our New Brunswick Operations
AV Group NB Inc. is an exciting and innovative company operating in the unique global market of viscose fibre and NBSK pulp. AV Group owns and operates three pulp mills in Canada. The two New Brunswick mills produce specialty pulp products (dissolving grade pulp) for the group’s têxtile industry. The mill in Ontario produces high-grade NBSK pulp.
Our Woodlands Operations are based out of Nackawic and Atholville, New Brunswick. AV Group currently manages two Crown Licenses, owns 42,000 hectares of Freehold land, operates as a sub licensee on two additional Crown Licenses as well as actively buying and operating on private woodlots through our purchase stumpage program.
AV Group is currently recruiting for an Operations Manager for our New Brunswick Operations
**Position location**: Fredericton, Campbellton, Flexible within Operating Area of New Brunswick
Role Overview
Responsibilities associated to this role include, but are not limited to:
- Provide expert level leadership in the management of harvesting, road construction and transportation of forest products
- Coordinate improvements across operations in an effort to standardize and improve safety, environmental and sustainable forest management, as well as operational performance.
- Coordinating with the Planning and Fibre Flow team, build the department’s annual budget and monitor it through monthly reporting on costs and volume variances to department heads.
- Coaching and assisting staff on developing monthly targets on deliveries and spending
- Manage contractor relations and growth, updating annual harvest and haul rates
- Liaise with the multiple regulators and other industry as required to resolve issues and improve delivery of services
- 10+ years of experience in the industry
- Proven ability to deliver results
- Promote and support all safety and environmental initiatives when performing roles and responsibilities
- Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Is an energetic, enthusiastic, and team oriented individual
- Exceptional organization, decision making and problem solving abilities.
- Computer skills (MSOffice)
