YWCA Genevra House is a 32-bed emergency shelter for women and their dependents who are escaping intimate partner abuse. The Shelter Support Worker plays a crucial role in supporting all shelter residents.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Answering the emergency crisis phone line, greeting and admitting new residents, establishing healthy helping relationships that empower residents to work on their plan for transitioning into community living, assisting with daily routines, helping to facilitate safety planning, offering emotional support and referrals, providing for the physical needs of residents, and completing administrative duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent level of experience in the social services or a related field of study; Must be trauma-informed, utilize a harm-reduction approach; knowledgeable about women's issues and services. Must align with YWCA Sudbury's Vision, Mission and Values.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.69 per hour
