**Safe Harbour House Support Staff**

**Relief / Various Shifts (Days/Afternoons/Nights)/$24.00 per hour**

**POSITION TITLE**:Safe Harbour House Support Staff

**PROGRAM**:Safe Harbour House Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing

**REPORTS TO**:Safe Harbour House Program Manager

**POSITION**:Provide emergency shelter and transitional housing services to women, young women and gender diverse people as per Housing First Guidelines, Service Agreement and standards.

**QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- Minimum post-secondary education in a related field (Social Service Worker, Social Work, Mental Health and Addictions)
- CPIC Clearance, CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Prevention, CPR and First Aid, Suicide Intervention Training
- 1-year (preferred) experience working with women, young women and gender diverse people who face multiple barriers, such as poverty, isolation, discrimination, trauma, criminalization, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness
- 1-year (preferred) experience working with individuals in a residential setting
- Knowledge of issues relating to women, young women and gender diverse individuals experiencing homelessness
- 1-year (preferred) experience conducting one-on-one and group programming
- Excellent recording and data collection skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Conflict resolution skills
- Experience using HIFIS software
- Computer literacy skills, including use of Microsoft office
- Knowledge of Housing First principles and community resources
- Advanced oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Bilingualism considered an asset

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide direct client services to women, young women and gender diverse individuals accessing Safe Harbour House emergency shelter and transitional housing
- Deliver services including: intake, referrals, crisis intervention, one-on-one supportive counselling, group programming, housing diversion assistance and advocacy
- Provide supportive assistance for daily activities including meals, cleaning, laundry, leisure and others
- Prepare group or one-on one sessions, facilitate the sessions, incorporate guest speakers where appropriate, maintain records of attendance and program statistics
- Collect statistical data, prepare reports on the program activities as requested and required
- Maintain accurate, up to date client files and case notes
- Develop, maintain and sustain stakeholder relationships required within position
