Manager of Programs

**OVERVIEW**
The Manager of Programs & Services is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery and coordination of NPDWC’s community programs, including the Drop-In, Volunteer and Community Outreach, Mama Bear Clan patrol, Community Navigators and other services and events. This role provides direct supervision and support to frontline staff, ensures the quality and consistency of programming, and supports key administrative functions including budgeting, reporting, and grant compliance.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education in social work, Indigenous studies, gender studies, community development, nonprofit management, or a related field. A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in non-profit service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or volunteers, including HR functions such as hiring, performance management, and team development.
- Experience supporting program development, evaluation, and reporting.
- Familiarity with budgeting, expense tracking, and basic financial reporting.
- Ability to work from a strength-based, culturally safe, harm reduction approach.
- Experience working with and across diverse communities and identities, including racialized peoples, the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, people with disabilities, etc.
- Knowledge of the current and historical effects of colonization on Indigenous people and experience supporting people to access traditional practices, reclaim culture, and navigate the unique barriers they face.
- Lived or living experience of substance use, food or housing insecurity, system involvement (EIA, CFS, etc.) poverty, and/or other types of barriers faced by inner city communities is welcomed and respected.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to support others with conflict resolution and team building.
- High level of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.
- Comfortable using standard Microsoft office software; familiarity with QuickBooks Online is an asset.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative leadership team.
- Strong critical thinking, accountability, and follow-through.
- Must identify as a woman or gender-diverse person.

- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Program and Service Delivery**
1. Oversee and support the delivery of NPDWC programs and services.
2. Support the development and implementation of new programs and improvements to existing services.
3. Track program budgets in coordination with administrative staff.
4. Support reporting to funders and contribute to grant writing as needed.
**Human Resources**
1. Provide direct supervision, support, and coaching to program staff.
2. Participate in hiring processes, employee onboarding, probation reviews, employee exits, etc.
3. Support performance management, conflict resolution, and team-building activities.
4. Contribute to organizational HR practices including policy development and staff engagement strategies.
5. Support staff in day-to-day problem solving, time management, and workload prioritization.
**Administration & Leadership**
1. Maintain regular communication with the Executive Director and other senior staff.
2. Ensure strong internal communication between program teams and administrative functions.
3. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee, community, and organizational information.
4. Attend and contribute to internal meetings, planning sessions, trainings, and strategic initiatives.
5. Represent NPDWC at community meetings, events, and collaborations as needed.
**Other**
1. Follow NPDWC policies, procedures, and respect guidelines.
3. Participate in fundraising and donor stewardship efforts.
4. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Pay: $30.00-$36.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
