Meat Cutter

Irvings Farm Fresh Ltd is a small family run pork processing facility, with a retail store, located on our farm at Round Hill (20 mins NE of Camrose). We cut and process specialty pork products including fresh and smoked sausage, bacon, ham, and pork cuts. For our business to continue to grow we need to recruit for the following position:
**MEAT CUTTER / MEAT PROCESSING ASSISTANT**

**Full Time Permanent position**

Duties will include:

- Cutting of carcass and primal pork cuts into wholesale and retail cuts
- Trimming primal cuts for further processing
- Curing / Slicing / Grinding / Mixing / Sausage Making
- Packaging / labelling / vacuum sealing of pork products
- Operating meat cutting and processing equipment
- Smokehouse operation
- Implementation of approved sanitation program within facility
- Equipment service / maintenance / cleaning
- Control of inventory, stock rotation, packing orders, shipping & receiving, record keeping.

Position requirements:

- Experience in a meat cutting environment, either from a post secondary meat cutting program or work based training. Sausage making skills would be preferable.
- Training and/or knowledge of food safety and health & safety.
- Basic knowledge of math, weights and measures, with excellent attention to detail.
- Capable of working in the cold / lifting up to 50 lb / standing for long periods / doing repetitive work.
- Be a team player with passion, drive and dedication.
- Contribute to the development of new pork products, and the continuous improvement of the company.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
