Under the general direction of the Landfill Supervisor, the Operations Foreman III - Landfill, is a senior resource and is responsible for assisting the Landfill Supervisor with overseeing and directing the daily operations of the Brady Road Resource Management Facility (BRRMF) and ensures Safety compliance and budgetary goals are met. The position works jointly with divisional representatives in the coordinating, planning, reviewing process of projects and day to day operations to ensure regulatory compliance of the landfilling operation.

This position conducts reports to record landfill productivity and regulatory compliance. Assists with design to be used for planning, construction projects and budgets, provides projects management and contract administration for onsite contractors, landfill related construction projects; conducts inspections to determine condition of services or compliance of workmanship to specifications or regulatory requirements, reviews plans, responsible assists with preparing estimates for capital and current budgets; assists with reviews of existing practices and procedures and recommends improvements.

**As the **_Landfill Operations Foreman III_**_ _**you will**:

- Assist the Landfill Supervisor with delegating tasks to direct and indirect reports and contractors.
- Assist the Landfill Supervisor to analyze data and prepare reports and recommendations to identify and initiate remedial actions as directed.
- Assist in preparation and monitoring of budgets for fiscal controls.
- Assist with ensuring BRRMF maintains Certificate of Recognition (COR) compliance for Health and Safety.
- Other duties consistent with the classification as required to assist the Division.

**Your education and qualifications include**:

- High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
- Solid Waste Association of North America, Manager of Landfill Operations (SWANA-MOLO) certification.
- Graduate of a Civil Technology Program from a recognized Institute of technology and 5 years’ experience in a supervisory role at a Class 1 landfill. A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Experience in budgeting and budget control.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and contract documents.
- Demonstrated knowledge of landfill operations best practices.
- Mechanical aptitude in the use of tools and the maintenance of equipment and knowledge of small engines.
- Work independently, with a minimum of supervision.
- Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
- Ability to organize and plan effectively.
- Ability to set and prioritize goals.
- Ability to take initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with workers, management, union, Safety and Health Committees and government agencies, in accordance with the Respectful Workplace Standard.

**Conditions of employment**:

- The successful applicant must maintain legal eligibility to work in Canada. If the successful applicant possesses a work permit, it is their responsibility to ensure the permit remains valid.
- Prior to commencement of employment, the successful applicant will be required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination by providing a Government of Manitoba issued QR code and photo identification.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Manitoba Class 3 Driver’s License.
- Must maintain Manager of Landfill Operations (MOLO) certification.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the job, which may include, but are not limited to: lifting up to 50 lbs, working outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions for extended periods of time, ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods and over uneven terrain for extended periods as required by work assignments.
