Financial Analyst Rotational Program

Overview
- To support the various functional areas of the finance team, we have developed a financial analyst rotational program and are recruiting accounting and analysis professionals
- The rotational program is designed to give those who are early in their career exposure to the Venture Steel organization by working with up to four different finance areas with each rotation lasting two to three months
- Potential rotational areas include accounts payable, accounts receivable/credit, financial reporting and analysis, cash management and treasury with the purpose of preparing the individual for a role in the area that maximizes their strengths and career advancement potential
- Throughout each rotation, the Financial Analyst will work alongside team members on daily tasks and hands-on projects, combining both business and technical skills to help build solutions that aid in more efficient operations and informed decision making for the respective finance functions
- After completing the program, the Financial Analyst will have the skills necessary to support various finance areas with the focus area based on their performance, preferences, and the business needs at the time
- This role requires both solid business knowledge to understand the needs and problems facing the company, and technical knowledge of what is possible from data and digital tools to address them

What to Expect
- Support the day-to-day tasks within the functional area of the rotational program
- Recommend appropriate changes to improve efficiency, systems and controls
- Develop documentation of critical business processes for future users and change management
- Offer creative and innovative solutions to business problems
- Support with requests/reports/special projects that may arise from time to time
- Assist in the month end process
- Prepare GL account reconciliations and in-depth analysis
- Assist in the external audit, bank audits and tax reporting
- Preparation of quarterly presentations and the related detailed variance analysis.
- Review aging and accrual schedules, assist in the resolution of issues

Qualifications Required
- Accounting designation or like academic qualification
- Co-op or internship experience in Finance or Accounting
- Intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or other data visualization tools is an asset
- Eager and curious to learn
