Business Analyst

**Venture Steel Inc.** is a custom flat rolled steel processor and distributor. We supply Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Aluminum in a wide range of grades, gauges and finishes. Venture Steel provides JIT, stock and release, and various other programs to a wide variety of customers in the Automotive, Construction, General manufacturing, and commercial markets. Our precision slitters, multi blanking and cut to length capabilities, combined with our experienced employees, provide a cohesive and timely service package to both ongoing and new customers.

To support the various functional areas around the company, we have developed a **two-year rotational program **and are currently **recruiting analytics and business savvy professionals to join the Business Analyst Rotational Program**. The rotational program is designed to give those who are early in their career the opportunity to work with up to **four different business areas **over a span of two years with each rotation lasting six to eight months. The Business Analyst will have the opportunity to gain experience working in the Purchasing, Sales, Logistics, Finance, and Strategy teams with the purpose of preparing the individual for a role in the areas that maximizes their strengths and career advancement potential.

Throughout each rotation, the Analyst will work alongside team members on daily tasks and hands-on projects, combining both business and technical skills to help build data-driven solutions that aid in more efficient operations and informed decision making for the respective business functions.

After completing the program, the Analyst will have the opportunity to join one of the teams within the business based on their performance, preferences, and the business needs at the time.
**This role requires both good business knowledge to understand the needs and problems facing the business, and technical knowledge of what is possible from data and digital tools to address them**.

**Brief Overview of Responsibilities**:

- Support the day-to-day tasks within the functional area of the rotational program
- Prepare and analyze reporting for key business metrics including sales performance, weeks supply of inventory, and inventory aging
- Work with internal stakeholders to define business needs and find appropriate solutions
- Assist with creation of new reports and reporting techniques to improve effectiveness and understanding of company and industry data
- Develop documentation of critical business processes for future users and change management
- Identify opportunities for enhancing existing solutions and improving current processes
- Offer creative and innovative solutions to business problems
- Support with requests/reports/special projects including other clerical duties arise

**Required Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, Economics, or other related field of study
- Co-op or internship experience in Sales, Finance, Accounting, Strategic Planning
- A leadership/management role on campus or related extracurricular activities
- Experience with Microsoft Power BI and/or other data visualization tools
- Eager and curious to learn.
