**Restorative Justice Coordinator**

**Location**: Lac La Biche, AB

**Closing Date**:
**Position Status**: 1 - Part Time (up to 25 hours per week), Term Contract ending March 31, 2026.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Serve as the primary point of contact for referrals from justice partners and stakeholders.
- Accept and review case referrals and documents.
- Select and assign volunteer facilitators to cases.
- Facilitate restorative justice group sessions as needed.
- Conduct victim/offender satisfaction surveys.
- Conduct case debriefing with facilitators.
- Follow-up on case agreements.
- Attend court during its regular sittings.
- Track data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Provide monthly reports to the Justice Manager.
- Maintain accurate records on spending and accounting for the program.
- Assist in managing program budgets and produce bi-weekly financial and activity reports.
- Assist with coordinating meetings and taking/preparing meeting minutes.
- Recruit and develop a roster of community members and volunteers.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with community partners and stakeholders to support restorative justice initiatives.
- Participate and represent the Otipemisiwak Métis Government in community engagement and other opportunities.
- Complete other tasks as required or assigned.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to be empathetic and non-judgmental when assisting clients.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
- Demonstrated time management, prioritization, and organization skills, with an ability to work with tight deadlines.
- Strong verbal, written, listening and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to produce professional documents, reports, and presentations.
- Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and community partners.
- Culturally sensitive and compassionate.
- Proficient in Microsoft office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) and google docs, Google sheets and Google Forms.

**Qualifications**
- Academic, employment, or volunteer background in social services, community services, and/or justice. Experience working in the justice system is an asset.
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience with coordinating, planning, and facilitating group sessions is an asset.
- Knowledge and understanding of victims’ rights, the Canadian Justice System, and restorative justice principles and practices.
- Knowledge of Métis history, culture, and issues affecting Métis people.
- Experience working with an Indigenous organization or remote Indigenous communities is an asset.
- Indigenous Awareness and Trauma-Informed Care training is an asset.
- Restorative Justice Training is an asset.

**Other Requirements**
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the clients.
- Evening and weekend work may be required to accommodate participation needs and community events.
- Travel within Alberta may be required to meet programming needs.
- Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and operational vehicle.
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check and Child Intervention Record Check are required.
