**Responsibilities**:
This Associate Director, Residence Life & Education provides direction to the comprehensive residence life and education program for all main campus residences at Western. Reporting to the Director of Housing, the Associate Director utilizes grounded, contemporary pedagogy in residence education to develop, assess and manage a comprehensive curriculum that fosters academic success, leadership development, citizenship and involvement, health and wellness, personal growth, and inclusion, with learning outcomes aligned to meet the organizational goals and strategic objectives of Housing and the University.

As a senior member of the Housing leadership team, this role is integral in the development, execution, and evaluation of residence goals, policies, organization, and programs. These elements are at all times aligned with divisional and institutional strategic plans and are consistent with the principles and theories of transformative student learning and development.

The Associate Director provides leadership and direction to the Residence Area Managers, Residence Life Coordinators and Residence Life Staff for all on-campus residential life. This role also provides leadership to the Residence Counselling and Student Support team to foster student well-being while working collaboratively with on-campus and community resources. This role actively contributes to emergency and crisis preparedness, guides and advises all members within the residence life team in safety and security matters, departmental policies, and provides on-call support and crisis response coordination. The Associate Director plays a key leadership role in the implementation and management of departmental procedures and provides direction and interpretation on these in order to ensure that University policies and codes of conduct are understood and upheld.
