Are you certified to teach cardio and choreography-based fitness classes and looking for a way to give back to your community? The Don Wheaton Family YMCA (Downtown) is seeking group fitness lovers with a passion and talent for relationship building and role modeling a healthy lifestyle. This volunteer position will lead cardio-based classes and work on strategies to improve members’ experience.
- The Don Wheaton Family YMCA is looking for instructors with availability for early morning (6-7am), Mid day (11-1pm) and evening (4-6pm) classes.

**Essential Functions**
- Provide quality instruction of group strength classes for participants of various skills and abilities.
- Deliver high quality services through excellent relationships with members.
- Relay program information and upcoming YMCA events to members.
- Class set up and take down, keeping group fitness equipment organized and in good repair.
- Role model recruitment and retention of members, best practices, and a healthy lifestyle.
- Demonstrate and promote a personal understanding of and appreciation for the mission, vision, and values and the YMCA programs and services.
**What You'll Need**
- Availability: Morning, evening or weekends and availability to sub on occasion.
- Current certification in CPR-A is required.
- Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search.
- Group fitness certification with specialization in cardio or choreography is required.
- Additional cardio-based, choreography or dance-based fitness certifications (Zumba, Cardio Kickboxing, Step) considered an asset.
- Currently participating in fitness classes an asset.
- Experience working with others in a customer service capacity.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem solving and multitasking skills.
- Friendly, energetic, positive attitude and organization.
- Ability to lead group fitness programming (including class planning & building choreography).
- A love of fitness paired with an ability to make all feel like the Y is a place they can belong.
