**Overview**
The Elves Adult Program is a community access day program that provides service to over 80 individuals with developmental disabilities. We are currently looking for an Instructor 3 (Team Leader) to join our team.

**Role and Responsibilities**
- Coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of individual support plans.
- Planning and organizing activities functional to the achievement of clients’ goals and objectives stated in their individual support plans.
- Ensuring that the clients’ personal care needs are met.
- Promoting social inclusion of program participants
- Providing behavioural support to individuals who might display behaviours of concern, as per specific plans in place.
- Preparing and chairing meetings regarding clients or room functioning.
- Ensuring that clients and room records are properly maintained, and that required paperwork is prepared and presented in a timely manner.
- Ensuring that Elves’ policies and procedures are followed at the room level.
- Acting as a liaison between the administration/resource staff and the room staff.
- Ensuring that regular contacts and positive relationships are maintained with clients’ families and caregivers and that relevant information from those contacts is shared with the pertinent program staff.
- Acting as a resource for the other staff in the room and providing orientation for new staff, including relief, volunteers, and practicum students.

**Required Qualifications**
- A diploma or undergraduate degree (preferred) in a relevant discipline, from a recognized institution.
- Two years of direct experience with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours and/or medically fragile.
- Current CPR and First Aid; Non-violent Crisis Intervention; Positive Behavioural Supports; Abuse Prevention and Response Protocol; WHMIS Awareness; Trauma Informed Support, Ethics of Touch; Foundations in Community Disability Studies.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.50 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
