Nanaimo, Canada Coast Salish Development Corporation Full time

Coast Salish Group includes companies in many sectors including construction, real estate development, petroleum services, forestry and aquaculture. We are looking for a full time motivated and well organized A/P and A/R Clerk who enjoys working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment to join our team.

**The primary responsibilities of the position are**:

- Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information
- Pays invoices by verifying transaction information; scheduling and preparing disbursements; obtaining authorization of payment.
- Issues invoices on a regular basis to all clients and tenants
- Ensures all deposits are matched to Invoices and appropriately recorded
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
- Verifies accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
- Resolves account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments, payments, or adjustments.
- Assist in data entry into spreadsheets and other reports
- Maintains filing system

**Required skills and experience**:

- Minimum 2 years in a similar role
- Work independently
- Proficient with bookkeeping programs - Sage would be beneficial
- Good computer skills, especially MS Excel
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational skills, able to multi-task, prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Effective interpersonal and excellent communication skills, both written and oral, conveying information effectively
