**Job Duties**:
The GIS services manager will lead the development of GIS capabilities, training, and data management for the Keewaytinook Okimakanak Tribal Council. The GIS program will support multiple departments. The program manager will work with department leads to assess data priorities, data security, and departmental training needs. The program manager will work with department leads to secure funding for continued and expanding GIS support to the First Nations and KO departments. It is the vision in KO that GIS capabilities will extend to each First Nation, therefore creating a strategic direction for GIS services, including the development of a Geohub will be a priority for this position.

**Requirements**:

- University Degree or College Diploma in GIS, Geography, Environmental Studies or related field and/or related work experience
- Project management skills and experience
- Superior time management skills, multitasking skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks with mínimal supervision.
- High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
- Pro-active, ability to work under own initiative without direction.
- The ability to prioritize and organize your own workload in an effective and accurate manner, whilst working within broad guidelines.
- Experience and proven success in seeking and receiving funding for programs.
- Thorough knowledge of ESRI GIS software
- An awareness of other GIS platforms
- Understanding of remote sensing and drone technologies
- Awareness of, and experience in, APP development for data collectioner
- Effective written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
- Politically aware.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills, as well as attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to KO First Nations
- Knowledge of the culture of First Nations, along with an understanding of their aspirations, socio-economic needs, stewardship values, and history
- Have a valid (class G) Ontario driver’s licence
- A strong desire to develop a working knowledge of issues affecting First Nations
- Ability to work as part of a team, and communicate effectively with a diversity of people including First Nation staff and members
