**Join a dynamic VOLUNTEER team committed to supporting survivors of human trafficking and exploitation in our community** Restorations Second Stage Homes (“Restorations”) exists to support survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking by providing long-term residential housing (at "Nancy's House") and survivor-led peer programming. Nancy's House is the first of its kind second-stage, long-term transitional home for survivors of trafficking and exploitation in Burlington, Ontario. Providing a safe home for 3 survivors of human trafficking and through a trauma informed and strengths-based approach, Restorations builds and nurtures trusting, long-term relationships between survivors of sexual exploitation and staff, volunteers, and the wider community as a foundation to recovery, healing, empowerment, and success. Restorations also employs individuals with lived experience of trafficking and exploitation as Peer Advocates to deliver the Survivor-Led Peer Advocacy program. The program exists to promote collaborative relationships that empower survivors. **The Fund Development Committee is a standing committee of the Board of Directors. The purpose of the Fund Development Committee is to assist the Board of Restorations in fulfilling its governance responsibilities with respect to fund development, fundraising, and meeting the revenue generating obligations of the charity. The role of Committee Member is a volunteer position.** Responsibilities of the Fund Development Committee include: - Work in collaboration with the Executive Director and staff to develop a revenue diversification strategy based on RSSH's strategic priorities. - Create a Fund Development plan that supports and encourages community and corporate engagement with RSSH in both the short term and long term. - Support staff and volunteers to identify, research, solicit, foster and steward major prospective donors so as to build ongoing support. - Establish, run, promote and support fundraising events/activities. - Monitor and evaluate progress in meeting fundraising targets. - Identify and maintain a list of existing and potential sponsors and donors. - Assume the lead for chosen fundraising activities. - Oversee, in collaboration with the Communications Team, the management of interactions with stakeholders: promotion of events, obtaining funds or in-kind services, and ensure the recognition of donors as well as the stewardship and reporting of gift impact. - Oversee the formation/review of policies and procedures associated with the Fund Development Committee's activities so that they are conducted in accordance with CRA regulations, that they adhere to fundraising best practices, and so that they are in keeping with any agreements with partners, sponsors, companies or agencies. - Perform such additional tasks as delegated to the committee from time to time. **Qualifications** Preferred qualifications includes experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations. Education in marketing, communications, or nonprofit management is valued. Knowledge of CRA regulations for charitable donations and best practices in ethical fundraising is beneficial. Strong skills in networking, event planning, and revenue generation are assets. Passion for supporting survivors and understanding of the charitable sector are key strengths. **Meeting Details** Meetings are conducted monthly via Zoom. **Application Details** Applications will be received until January 2025 after which qualified applicants will be contacted regarding next steps (including an interview).
