**Job description**:

- BANQUET STAFF

Be available to work evenings and weekends according to events scheduled. Some day shifts may be required.

Set up all meeting rooms to the specifications of the guest. This includes considerable physical activity in transporting awkward and heavy materials such as staging, tables, chairs, dance floors, etc., from storage area to meeting rooms

Set up for event including buffet and table settings.

Supply and replenish meeting rooms with food and beverage as requested including dishes, clean glasses and fresh water, coffee/tea, food items.

Break down all meeting rooms where meetings have concluded and return to storage closet so the room will be available to be reset for the next function.

Maintain established cleaning schedule of meeting rooms and ballrooms so the rooms stay presentable at all times.

To provide a proactive response to additional guest requests while ensuring communication of additional items for billing to appropriate personnel.

To refresh rooms during breaks to maintain professional presentation of the room and non-interference with presentation material.

To achieve timely and quiet service of refreshments as per function sheet.

To be competent in the set up/operation of audio-visual equipment as per manufacturer's instructions or contact the audio visual hire company as set down by property policy.

To carry out thorough cleaning of banquet/meeting rooms.

To ensure neat and safe storage of all tables/chairs/equipment in line with company policy.

To ensure timely delivery of messages/deliveries to banquet/meeting rooms unless no interruptions specifically requested by the organizer.

To reset rooms for continuation of meetings ensuring full and professional set up and keeping of flip charts/meeting materials unless specifically directed by the conference organizer.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Be self motivated, able to work independently meeting time requirements.

Requirements:
Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Experience: Previous hotel-related experience desired. Physical: Requires grasping, standing, walking, repetitive motions, hearing, visual acuity, and may on occasion require lifting and carrying up to 40 pounds.
