**Position Overview**:
As a Retail Associate at Pawticular you will be responsible for delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store, and assisting with various store tasks. You’ll use your knowledge of pets and pet care to help customers find the right products for their pets and contribute to a positive and fun shopping experience.

**Requirements**:

- Must be available to work on Friday’s (10am-7pm) and Saturday’s (10am-6pm) including holidays.
- A genuine love for animals and an interest in pet care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Utilize product knowledge to assist customers in finding the right pet products.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions.
- Ability to lift and move products (may require physical effort)
- Must have reliable transport
- Previous pet supply store / retail experience preferred, but not required.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide excellent customer service, offering product recommendations and advice based on customer needs.
- Ensure the store is clean, organized, and well-stocked.
- Assist customers with product selections and answer pet-related inquiries.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and assist with stock replenishment.
- Process customer transactions at the point of sale (POS).
- Must be able to work independently
- Opening the Store in the Morning:

- Arrive on time and ensure the store is ready for customers.
- Unlock the doors and disarm any security systems.
- Turn on the lights, air conditioning/heating, and any necessary equipment (i.e. POS system and laptop)
- Check the cash register or safe to ensure it has the appropriate change for transactions.
- Inspect the store for cleanliness, restock shelves if needed, and ensure any promotional displays are in order.
- Make sure the store's inventory is in the correct order, especially if new stock has arrived.
- Locking Up at the End of the Shift:

- Ensure all customers have left the store before beginning the closing process.
- Clean up the store, including sweeping, wiping down surfaces, and putting away any stray merchandise.
- Count the cash register and make sure all financial transactions are recorded properly.
- Restock or organize products as necessary for the next day.
- Turn off all lights.
- Lock up all doors and windows securely, ensuring the store is safe.
- Set the security system before leaving.
