**Intermediate Financial Analyst - Corporate Accounting**:
**Location: Hybrid - York Mills (Toronto)**

Empire life is looking to hire an Intermediate Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Accounting team

**The opportunity**:

- collaborate with cross-functional teams and work on a variety of projects that will keep you engaged and continuously learning.

**What you’ll be working on**- Compile data from various sources and accurately record transaction activity in the company’s accounting system to support timely report preparation.- Actively facilitate the month-end close process and month-end analysis for various accounts.- Prepare statements, reports and surveys to support accurate financial reporting for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.- Monitor, review, analyze and reconcile GL accounts to ensure accuracy and proactively identify and report on variances.- Coordinate transactional investigation with other business units and implement timely adjustments when needed.- Assist in analysis and interpretation of financial results- Work with other Finance team members to continuously improve and automate team processes and templates.- Participate in projects and initiatives as assigned.- Provide back up to the team and support other business units as required.- Support external and internal auditors requests

**What we’re looking for you to have**- CPA designation or equivalent is required- 3+ years accounting experience.- Experience working with a General Ledger system is required.- Strong attention to detail- Ability to work independently; prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks.- Ability to think logically, analyze and solve problems.- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and to collaborate and build relationships.- Experience in the financial services/insurance industry preferred.- Microsoft Excel competency (Intermediate to Advanced).- Strong proficiency in IFRS.- Completion of a university degree with courses in financial and managerial accounting**Beyond the salary**:
