Boom Truck Operator and Yard Associate

**We currently have an immediate need for a mature, licensed Boom Truck Operator and Yard Associate to join our delivery team.**

**DESCRIPTION**:
Reporting to the Yard Manager, the ideal team member operates vehicles which require a “DZ” license designation with a Boom ticket. The Driver is responsible for the delivery of material to customers in accordance with safety regulations and ensures excellent service is provided to the customer in person. While not on the road, maintains the yard and he lumber drive threw to ensure building materials are protected from both environmental factors and from vehicles/forklifts entering and leaving the yard.

**Responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:

- Prepare customer orders, pick product, secure orders on skids, band and wrap according to weather and loading conditions.
- Prepare vehicle for delivery. Verify that all products are securely loaded and protected from the elements and all accompanying paperwork is available.
- Operate two way radio and cell phone to receive instructions and provide status updates.
- Assists in the yard and receiving department when there are no scheduled deliveries.
- Performs other job-related duties as required.

**SKILLS**:

- Position requires an ability to work well under pressure, employing effective decision-making (judgment) under sometimes stressful and unpredictable circumstances.
- Position requires good communication and interpersonal skills to be able to assess customer requirements and provide satisfactory solutions.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must hold a valid “DZ” level driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract required.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings and holidays.
- Be able to provide a satisfactory criminal reference check.
- Ability to work outside in all types of weather conditions.
- Must have strong communication skills and be able to understand customer requirements.
- Strong reading and comprehension of written and printed materials, including information presented in numerical form.
- Must have good knowledge of the layout of city roadways, maintain awareness of road restrictions and can source alternative routes.
- Must be familiar with basic home building construction in order to sequence loads.
- **A valid Boom ticket is an asset.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
