**Job Description: Merchandiser/Sales Associate**

**Bergo Designs** is a destination for design lovers in Toronto’s historic Distillery District. Our store features a curated selection of contemporary design objects, home décor, and gifts from around the world — and is home to the **one and only Jellycat shop-in-shop in Canada**.

We are currently seeking a **Merchandiser / Sales Associate** to join our team. This role blends creative merchandising with hands-on retail sales — perfect for someone with an eye for design who enjoys connecting with people and creating inspiring shopping experiences.

**Responsibilities**:

- Maintain visually compelling product displays and ensure the sales floor is always well-stocked and organized
- Support merchandising updates, product rotations, and seasonal display changes
- Greet and engage customers, providing friendly and knowledgeable assistance
- Drive sales by offering product suggestions and sharing product stories and design details
- Assist in receiving, unpacking, and stocking merchandise
- Monitor traffic at the store entrance and greet visitors during assigned door shifts
- Contribute to keeping the store clean, organized, and welcoming at all times

**Qualifications**:

- Previous retail or merchandising experience preferred
- Strong sense of design, presentation, and detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform moderate physical tasks (e.g., lifting boxes, restocking shelves)
- Reliable, organized, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Interest in design, architecture, or art is a plus

**Job Types**: Part-time, Seasonal, Permanent
**Hours**: Approx. 20 per week (4-8 hour shifts)
**Pay**: From $17.60 per hour
**Additional Pay**: Overtime pay
