I am an Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) working in Metrotown and Burnaby Hospital. I am looking for a full time temporary MOA from November 29, 2024, to January 24, 2025.
**Job description**
I am a physician that is both office and hospital based, with all hospital-based care provided at Burnaby Hospital. I am looking for a reliable, dedicated, and kind individual to work with me as my Medical Office Assistant. I share an office with another OBGYN, who has their own full-time MOA.

MOA duties include:
- scheduling patient appointments and maintaining physician schedule (on call, operative days, clinic days)
- maintaining electronic medical records - experience with Plexia EMR is an asset
- document scanning and filing into Plexia
- filing and responding to incoming faxes (test results, new referrals, pharmacy communications, etc)
- managing the office phone line, with timely return of messages
- flexibility to change schedules when required
- surgical booking packages and maintaining a surgical waitlist, and maintaining a good rapport with OR Booking at Burnaby Hospital
- booking urgent laboratory and imaging investigations
Wage based on experience, education, and tasks undertaken.
**Requirements**:
- MOA certification or equivalent
- Previous experience with working in a surgical office is preferred but not mandatory
- Criminal record check
Summary:
- Full time MOA work, working for one physician, Monday - Friday (40 hours/week)
- Language: English, with any additional languages considered an asset
- Duration of work: November 29, 2024 - January 24, 2025.
