**Overnight Awake Shelter Cleaner**

HOUSEKEEPING/CLEANER Position:
The primary responsibility of the full-time cleaner is the general cleanup and up-keep of the Shelter so that all health and safety regulations can be met.

All programs are offered within a wholistic approach which includes traditional Indigenous Spiritual Concepts and ceremonies; blended with contemporary methods.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Cleaner:

- Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping and vacuuming of the floors.
- Sterilize and sanitize all surface areas throughout the main floor, 2nd and 3rd floor.
- Checking in with shelter staff regarding vacated bedrooms that require cleaning.
- Dust and wipe down all windows and walls.
- Clean and sterilize all bathrooms (including staff and client bathrooms).
- Wash and dry household linens daily.
- Report all safety hazards and damages to the supervisor.
- Ensuring there are adequate cleaning supplies on site for shelter staff and clients.
- Washing and sterilization of dish ware and kitchen utensils.
- Other household tasks as assigned.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

- Minimum of grade 12.
- Knowledge of proper sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and tight schedules.
- Must provide proof of a current Police Check & Child Welfare Intervention Services Check.
- WHMIS Certificate.
- Previous housekeeping experience.
- Ability to speak an Indigenous language is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $19.00 per hour
