Tiercon is seeking knowledgeable, self-directed, experienced and hardworking individuals interested in the automotive industry as an Environmental, Health & Safety Coordinator at our 596 Arvin Ave. facility.

Job Summary & Reporting Structure:

- Reporting to the EHS Manager, the EHS Coordinator provides expertise in the areas of environmental, Sustainability, H&S management and ensures that the EHS programs and practices are in compliance with government laws and regulations.
- The EHS Coordinator supports initiatives in improving the EHS Management Systems, prioritizing action plans and shaping internal communications related to EHS objectives.

**Responsibilities**:

- Participate in identifying and escalating any environmental or health and safety contraventions with Senior Managers at all sites.
- Supporting the maintenance and on-going continuous improvement activities of the Environmental, Health and Safety Management, and Sustainability Systems.
- Provide support through periodic site visits, discussions, and follow-up of strategies with plant management to ensure implementation and standardization of required practices.
- Compile and maintain EHS records such as results of monthly site inspections, water/air/land sample results, and environmental incidents.
- Prepare documentation for annual submissions to regulatory bodies (e.g., ESDM, NPRI)
- Maintain legal compliance registry and interpret environmental and other compliance obligations to advise operations on required operational controls and management system polices and procedures.
- Support the facilities with WSIB Claims Management and the Early and Safe Return to Work Process.
- Provide technical expertise and leadership in the development of ergonomic procedures.
- Performs ergonomic job hazard analyses of workstations with identified risk factors including job process, workstation and work method and follow up to evaluate effectiveness of changes.
- Record and study injury data, employee complaints and job hazard recognition to implement effective countermeasures for improving ergonomic work practices.
- Provide leadership and support to facility representatives on the ongoing Hazard Assessment process.
- Coordinate with all affiliate facilities to share best practices and alignment where applicable.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
- Training content authoring, design and presentation through in-person and online training sessions according to programs and policies as required, across all sites to ensure that workers recognize and understand their own contributions to improved environmental performance.
- Follow-up and provide support to corrective action plans to ensure that corrective action plans have been implemented, as planned.
- Demonstrated ability to provide beneficial recommendations to solve Safety, Sustainability and Environmental related issues related to regulations, laws, and policies.
- Create reports that illustrate reductions in worker injuries, health, and other safety related costs.
- Assist in coordinating modified work assignments for injured workers through an early and safe return to work plan.
- Assists in identifying the nature and location of workplace hazards, and implementation of measures to reduce or eliminate such problems.
- Provide guidance and assistance to help identify, analyze, and implement alternative processes to improve performance and reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders.
- Train, coach, and mentor others involved in ergonomic improvement activities and ergonomic program implementation.
- Serve as a resource and provide guidance and assistance to the Joint Health and Safety Committees
- Assist in other departmental health and safety initiatives as required.
- Able to travel as required.

Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Environmental, Sustainability or H&S Management or related field OR equivalent work experience
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the automotive industry or in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with ISO 14001 is required.
- Environmental and sustainability knowledge (ISO 14001:2015, compliance obligations, ESG and corporate social responsibility, etc.)
- Ability to interpret environmental and other compliance obligations.
- Manufacturing/industrial process knowledge (coating, injection molding, water treatment, facility maintenance, pollution control, material handling, chemical storage, etc.)
- Knowledge of environmental aspects and impacts of manufacturing operations including waste,
