**Job description** Dogtopia is the leading destination for doggy daycare, and boarding services. Founded in 2002, Dogtopia is an early pioneer and innovator in the pet services industry. Dogtopia of Brampton is looking for an experienced dog handler to join our team. This is a key role within our business and we work hard to deliver top customer service and ensure a great environment for the dogs in our care. **About the Dog Daycare Operations Manager**: - The focus of the DDOP is to watch over the playrooms and provide coaching to our dog daycare attendants to further their knowledge of open play. - Is able to interact/engage with the dogs and are always "on stage". All rooms are equipped with cameras so pet parents can stay engaged with their dogs and watch the fantastic experience you create for their pup. - Maintain control of a large group of dogs in open play. - In charge of onboarding, schedules, and performance reviews for the attendants. - Address behavioral issues immediately without the use of force or physical punishment. - Educate the dogs by teaching them to follow basic commands such as sit, down, stay, etc, that will be a benefit inside and outside of the playroom. - Works with the General Manager to provide a safe and positive daycare center. **Job Qualifications**: - Must LOVE dogs - Has a foundation of dog knowledge and behaviour. - Understands that Dogtopia is strictly positive-based training. - Daycare experience is a huge asset. - Able to lead a team with the help of the General Manager. - Ability to work varied schedules including days, evenings, weekends and holidays. - Position requires standing and walking throughout shift. - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be physically fit **About You**: - You are a dog lover - We care deeply about the dogs in our care and you will too. - Must be a team player - We have each other’s backs. .You are reliable and responsible, given you are caring for live animals. - Able to excel in a fast-paced environment - Must be an excellent communicator. - Must have strong observance skills. **What’s in It For You**: - Growth opportunities. - Medical and Dental benefits - Bring your pup to work - Our accredited training can help you become a certified dog trainer - Pay based on experience - Flexible work hours - Public transit Accessible/ Free car parking on site **Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent **Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Dental care - Extended health care - Life insurance - On-site parking - Store discount - Vision care Schedule: - 10 hour shift - 12 hour shift - 8 hour shift - Day shift - Evening shift - Holidays - Monday to Friday - Weekends as needed COVID-19 considerations: All employees are required to do temperature checks and Covid questionnaire at the start of each shift.
